Well I can't believe that my sophomore year is already over, it went by so fast! But I'm honestly not complaining one little bit. Even though this year was not quite ideal, I did learn a lot of really great things.
1. Things you should have on your bucket list: swimming in the rain (if you can do it in your clothes, that's extra bonus points); camping out for hours to get good seats at a football game-it's worth it, even if you lose; throwing nasty old shoes onto a telephone wire.
2. Freshmen and couples should be banned from the periodicals...especially during finals week.
3. Mondays don't even suck when you have a zillion missionary emails to read.
4. If you go to one country concert, you are going to get addicted and want to go to every single one.
5. The best Valentines Day involves taking lots of selfies with your friends and stuffing your face full of food.
6. If you're ever having a bad day, listen to "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles, "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" by the Temptations, "Do You Believe In Magic" by Aly and AJ, and "Surfin' USA" by the Beach Boys. I dare you not to be a little bit happier.
7. There is not a single problem in this world that country music can't fix.
8. BYU Crushes is possibly the greatest invention in the whole world. And Bailey amazes me with her clever posts!
9. Childhood BFFS= lifetime BFFS. I don't know what I'd do without Kaytlyn, Shanda, Kristen, and Ashley.
10. If a Mexican asks you to play on his intramural soccer team, you should probably say no, unless you want to play with all his Mexican friends who are pros. On second thought, you should accept because that's how you'll meet the most attractive man to ever walk the face of the earth.
11. Sometimes people are selfish or not very nice, but in the end, it doesn't even matter as long as YOU are nice. If you are mean or selfish, you've lost.
12. God knew what he was doing when He put Sara Washburn into my life.
13. Sometimes I look at all the baby freshmen getting married and having babies, then I remind myself that I'm actually going to graduate with a freaking awesome degree, and I'm so excited I can't even handle it.
13. RMs are about as stupid as premies are immature. At this point, I'm not even sure which one is worse...
14. With a few exceptions, you're only having a bad day if you let yourself believe that it's a bad day. Perception is an amazing thing.
15. Contrary to popular belief, Econ 110 isn't even that bad, and I actually LIKED it.
16. The temple is my place. Everyone needs to escape the world a little bit, and the temple is a piece of heaven on earth.
17. This life is a lot harder than I ever imagined it could be. Everyone is going to be pushed to the very edge, but we can choose to overcome our trials. With God all things are possible.
18. The Provo YSA 53rd Ward is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I miss my friends so bad it hurts sometimes, and even after a year, I still cry sometimes. But I don't want my friends to be anywhere else. I will always have a special place in my heart for the people I met during freshman year.
19. God knows ME. And His mercy is incomprehensible. Even if it's just prompting someone to leave a note on my door, or run into me on campus, or forgive me for hitting their car, God understands my situations perfectly and He blesses me more than I can ever deserve. But, if you're not paying attention, you'll miss the hand of God in your everyday life. If you open your eyes however, your mind will literally by blown about how completely God is involved.
20. Sometimes you only need 20 seconds of insane courage.
21. If you ever want to know if God exists, just drive into the mountains.
22. Family>>>everything else
23. General Conference is like a holiday. I crave it like I crave pumpkin cookies in fall, and the smell of flowers in the spring. It seriously is food for my soul and I am so blessed to know that we have apostles and prophets on earth today and to receive revelation for my life through their words.
24. Jesus is the Christ. He is God's Son who not only atoned for my sins and died for me, He lived His life for me. Because of Him, I have an example to follow. Because of Jesus Christ, I know that everything will be ok. I know that I am never ever alone. I know that one day I will see Amanda, Alexis, and my Grandpa again. Sometimes I can't even comprehend how blessed I am to have a Savior who loves me, and that His grace is available to me every single day of my life.
25. I feel like the recurring theme in my life this year is summed up nicely in this quote:
