THE HOLY WAR

So, this week was pretty usual. BUT I did get a promotion at work! So now I'm a supervisor (I'm kind of a big deal.) So basically I just get to order a bunch of food EVERY DAY and I get an entire $.25 raise! I'm gonna be rich I tell you! Anyways, that's really not that exciting. This weekend, Rachel, Laurie, Bailey and I went to a dance that our apartment complex put on and we got CRAZY! That dance was seriously so fun, mostly thanks to Tate, Blake, and Nathaniel and their HILARIOUS dance moves. Those kids make my life. AAANNND Blake and Nathaniel are my home teachers, so basically, we're in for some good times this year. This Saturday was the HOLY WAR! The rivalry football game between BYU and the UofU. Sara and I sat in line outside the stadium, beginning at 11 am and the game didn't even start until 8 pm. It was a loooong day, but we were so pumped to play the team from up north. Well we finally got in the stadium and got super awesome seats, just to watch our team play horribly. The QB couldn't pass, the receivers couldn't catch, and no matter what, the refs were adamantly against us. Needless to say, we lost 20-13. Don't worry, it's only the 4th year in a row that we've lost the biggest game of the season and given the Utes a reason to brag. But it's fine. There's always next time. (Like we don't say that every year.)

^Despite our crushing loss, we still looked hot.^

^Yeah, these games get intense. Rivalries will do that.^

CAMPFIRES

Ya know, school's pretty alright. Like my classes are good. Homework's good. Life is good. But obviously I'm not gonna tell you all about the economics homework I did all week. On Monday, we had a 53rd ward reunion at Bish Sybrowsky's house. Basically it was the greatest thing in the whole world to see all my besties from the freshman ward. I love them all so much! Although seeing everyone was definitely good, it also just made me miss everyone on missions sooooo much more. The day that the whole 53rd ward is reunited will be the best day of my life. That ward changed my life and I cannot ever picture life without my friends that I made. And Bishop Sybrowsky is just the most amazing bishop in the whole world! Thank so much for caring about me and how I'm doing!
85% girls, 15% guys. I can't believe that's all that's left of the 53rd ward!
This weekend Bailey, Laurie, Rachel, Josh, Cameron and I all went up AF Canyon to roast smore's and whatnot. First off, it was FREEZING riding in Josh's jeep because he took off the top and then drove really fast through the canyon. But I didn't get frostbite so it's all good. When we got to the campsite to start the fire, we put all the food out on the table. Literally, we had only been there for two minutes when some fat raccoon stole our whole freaking bag of marshmallows and took off through the forest with it! The bag of marshmallows was definitely just as big as the raccoon itself. Good thing we had strapping young men like Josh to chase it down and get it back. But legit, I have never seen any raccoon get so stinking close. But I just love campfires. I love the smell. I love watching the fire. I love looking up at the stars. I just love nature. Seriously, all I need to be happy are the mountains, and a fire, and the stars. And I wouldn't say no to an attractive man either. One day.
We <3 campfires! #ttdis

College Life

I've missed the good times here in college and it's dang good to be back in the land of Provo. These past couple weeks have been super fun and busy, and I've been able to do so many new things. I'm just loving life right now. When we first got back to Provo, we obviously had to go to a BYU women's soccer game. And we met Cosmo! Basically it just made my life complete!
^Hailey, Emily, Sara, Cosmo, Bailey and Me^
Then Bailey, Emily, and I got to go off-roading with Bailey's friend Josh. Oh. My. Gosh. It was so fun! Especially when we got stuck in a huge mud pit and the jeep started filling up with water. I had a blast and I definitely would go again in a heartbeat!
^Bailey, Me, Emily, and Josh. I was obviously really excited.^
We also ventured to sliding rock in Alpine. It's a natural water slide that is TONS of fun! But the water is legit FREEZING!
Just a little sliding action.

^Me, Laurie, Brooklyn,Sara, Rachel, Bailey, and Emily^
On Labor Day, Laurie, Rachel and I went hiking in Little Cottonwood Canyon. We went to a lake called Cecret Lake. It was super pretty. The whole canyon was amazingly beautiful. I can't believe I had never been up there before! Sometimes the beauty of this world just amazes me.

The night before school started, there was a rainstorm, so what better way to end summer than to go out and play in the rain and then jump in the swimming pool with all of your clothes on? It was so fun!  This weekend we went to the BYU v. U of U women's soccer game. It was so intense and so fun! And we won so that's just an added bonus. Then we went to a party at the "Glen-hood." Oh my goodness, I have never seen so many attractive guys in one place at one time. It was so fun! My favorite part had to be when Bailey, Josh, and I all jumped into the pool in our clothes...again. And then obviously we went to McDonald's because that is the natural thing to do.
Because we do crazy things like that.
On Saturday, Bailey, Laurie, Rachel, and I all went to the BYU v. Texas football game two hours early to get good seats. But while we were waiting a HUGE storm blew in out of no where. We were SOAKED!
Before and After the storm.
Legit, I have never seen it rain so much and so quickly. The streets were flooded and there were even evacuations throughout Utah County. Soooo....we bailed before the game even started and went to see "World War Z." Wow. That movie is super intense. Thankfully the football game was delayed so even after seeing the movie, we went back and watched the last half of the game. It was such a good game! We won 41-20 which was super exciting, especially since Texas is ranked #15. Anyways, that has been my life for the past couple weeks. And it's been a real blast, but I really would be perfectly happy if I don't get another outfit completely soaked for awhile. S/O to my roommates! They are the best in the world and I just know we are gonna have one AMAZING year!
